The Heat King HK300 is a towable hydronic heater for ground thawing, concrete curing and temporary heat with compatible heat exchangers. BCI Rentals is preparing to offer the HK300 in Backus, Minnesota. It is available soon: call (218) 947-3353 to discuss your project and reserve ahead.

One hydronic system, several winter jobs

A Heat King heater warms a glycol-based fluid and circulates it through field hoses. Lay those hoses over prepared ground for thawing or use the approved arrangement for concrete temperature protection. Compatible air heat exchangers let a hydronic heater transfer heat into an enclosure without putting the burner's exhaust into that heated air.

Plan the complete setup

Ground thaw

Measure the area and estimate the frost depth before choosing a heater. The hose layout and insulation over the hoses help determine how effectively heat reaches the ground. See our ground heater rental guide for current fleet options and sizing questions.

Concrete protection

Hydronic heat and insulated curing blankets can be part of a cold-weather concrete plan. Specify the protection temperature and monitoring method with the concrete professional responsible for the pour.

Temporary building heat

Ask about compatible heat exchangers when the job calls for air heat from a hydronic system. If ducted warm air is the better fit, compare indirect fired heaters and the other choices in our temporary heat guide.

Heat King HK300 questions

Can I rent the HK300 today?

The HK300 is available soon. Call BCI to discuss the arrival status and reserve ahead. If your job starts sooner, we can discuss the ground heaters currently listed in the rental catalog.

Is the HK300 a glycol ground heater?

Yes. It is a hydronic heater that uses heated glycol-based fluid circulated through hoses. Its applications include ground thawing and concrete curing, with temporary air heat possible through a compatible heat exchanger arrangement.

How much ground can it thaw?

The published ground-thawing rating is up to 5,600 square feet. The required thaw depth, soil conditions, insulation and hose arrangement change performance. Call to size your job and discuss the planned work window.

Are the curing and thawing areas the same?

No. The manufacturer lists up to 5,600 square feet for thawing and up to 11,200 square feet for concrete curing. These applications place different demands on the heater, so choose the rating for the work you are doing.
